Nigeria Customs requires PAAR filing before your cargo lands at MMIA. Early filing (24–48 hrs before arrival) speeds up the assessment and reduces dwell time at the terminal.
Food, beverages, drugs, cosmetics, devices and packaged water all require NAFDAC inspection at MMIA. Pre-registration of products reduces clearance from days to hours.
Electronics, electrical goods and regulated products require SON (Standards Organisation of Nigeria) conformity assessment. SONCAP certificate must be obtained before shipment or cargo is rejected.
Form M is required for commercial imports above $1,000 USD. Air cargo Form M has different processing timelines to sea — it must be opened and approved before the airway bill is issued.
